Save the date: A different kind of vision board workshop. For you.

Hi Reader,

If our last newsletter on symptom surveillance resonated, you know how exhausting it is when your brain is stuck on “What’s wrong?”

That’s why typical New Year visioning often falls flat with chronic symptoms. It asks a threat-focused brain to imagine a perfect, symptom-free future—and can end up feeling like one more thing you’re “doing wrong.”

This year, let’s try something different.

A gentler vision ritual

Instead of an overwhelming annual plan, let’s create a gentle map for your next 90 days—a timeframe that’s realistic, adaptable, and kind. A vision board that leaves space for both hard days and moments of joy.

A Map to Your Well World
A Gentle Vision Board Workshop for Life with Chronic Symptoms

What we’ll create together

You’ll envision your Well World Map—a single, cohesive visual guide for your upcoming months. This map intentionally includes two integrated parts:

  • Your Well World – Your compass toward what inspires and replenishes you in this next phase. What does vision, connection, gentle joy, or creative peace look like for you now?
  • Your Basecamp – A space dedicated to a vision of what rest, resourcing, and support on harder days look like for you. It’s woven into your Well World Map, ensuring your next chapter is sustainable and compassionate.
“A vision that doesn’t include your hard days isn’t a vision - it’s a fantasy. A map that includes your ideal Basecamp isn’t a compromise - it’s self-kindness.”

What makes this experience special:

  • 90-Day Focus: We map a gentle, possible next chapter, not an entire unpredictable year.
  • A Truly Accessible Space: Cameras are optional. Rest is encouraged. You can create digitally (with a simple Canva template) or physically (with paper, scissors, and glue).
  • A Creative, Guided Process: We’ll begin with an inspiring Future Self visualization, followed by quiet creation time with gentle prompts and optional sharing.

I’ve opened registration now so you can gift your future self a clear, kinder map for 2026.

Yes, I want the Newsletter

mindbodyJOY is a space for people whose nervous systems have been stuck in survival mode for too long. Created by Simone Holderbach, Neuroplasticity & Nervous System Coach and educator, mindbodyJOY combines courses like GLIMMER with the mindbodyJOY community, a daily practice space for building safety, resilience, positive affect, connection, creativity, awe, meaning, and small moments of aliveness. mindbodyJOY is a chronic joy community where we practice micro-doses of positive emotion and connection that are small on purpose, so the nervous system can say yes.

Done right, connection is a form of nervous system safety.

Hi Reader,Wanting connection and having the capacity to socialize are not always the same thing. You may miss people, but not have the energy to make plans. You may want to feel included, but not have the bandwidth for small talk. You may long for warmth, ease, or being seen, while also needing a way to connect that does not require you to perform being okay. Sometimes the lonely part of you wants people, while the exhausted part of you wants quiet. That is not a contradiction. It is often...

Hi Reader,Maybe you can relate. When life has been shaped by chronic symptoms, pain, anxiety, burnout, or stress for a long time, creativity can start to feel like something that belongs to another version of you: the version who had more energy, more spaciousness, more curiosity, and more access to play. And when someone says, “You should try doing something creative,” it can sound almost insulting if your brain is busy scanning symptoms, solving problems, managing appointments, and trying...

Hi Reader,Does your brain spend a lot of time scanning for what's wrong? Checking symptoms. Bracing for the next thing to go wrong. Predicting how hard tomorrow might be. Noticing every niggle and twinge, every small shift in sensation, and wondering what it might mean. If anxiety is a familiar part of your life, you might recognize this as your brain's default setting. From an evolutionary standpoint, this makes complete sense. When you've lived with chronic symptoms, chronic stress, or a...
